International Day for Street Children (IDSC) is a special day that acknowledges the strength and resilience of the millions of street children around the world. This April will be the tenth year in a row that organizations with similar hearts and visions have banded together to advocate and celebrate children on the streets all around the world.

Will you join this work by giving a gift today?

On April 12th all staff and students of Milele are going on a field trip to celebrate International Day for Street Children. Living on the streets means many kids are stripped of their childhood, memories, experiences, and school.

We want the boys at Milele to experience new things, learn about their country, and make up for a childhood that was taken from them. They will be traveling to a larger city to visit the zoo, a museum, Victoria Lake, and getting lunch in town. We will update with photos from this outing!

In order to continue the important and urgent work in Kitale with excellence and edification, we are praying to raise $25,000 in celebration of IDSC. Giving lines are open now through Sunday, April 17th!

Help us reach our goal!

Advocacy is how we plead on another’s behalf and defend a cause. Milele local staff has collaborated with local law enforcement, community organizations, and street leadership to build a platform for the boys in Kitale.

More than a platform, they have intertwined a critical layer of protection so that their newfound agency is preserved and they can continue to reach their fullest potential.

Agency is an individual's capacity to independently choose and to affect change. We deeply believe that the youth on the street in Kitale have an incredible capacity to affect change in their communities. There are leaders living inside them. While powerful potential is ready to outflow, their circumstances have stripped them of security, choice, and opportunity.

So Milele offers boys a chance for their souls to take a sigh of relief through some of the comforts of a loving, stable home. We help them uncover and pursue those passions and skills that already exist within them.

We are constantly hearing “I would have never guessed this boy was a street boy”. Whether it is at school, the hospitals, or their families, these boys will not be defined by their time on the streets. They are redefining their own futures.

Recurring gifts provide consistency for Milele and in turn for the boys we serve. You will also lock arms with other incredibly passionate believers on Team180.

You have the power to help create sustainable change in the lives of street youth in Kenya!

We prayerfully anticipate the incredible movement God will make through faithful supporters and advocates.

These futures are not made possible without the hard work, training, and love of the staff at Milele Each one of them meets boys in the street. Learns them, knows them, builds trust with them, and invites them on a different journey through Milele.

Our social workers have spent over 100 hours meeting new boys and deepening relationships. Counselors have spent 520 hours pouring into their lives and educators have given 300 hours of training new skills.
